tune in, drop out.

a bit of live blogging action for everyone out there. if you happen to read this now-ish (sunday or monday), i strongly suggest tuning into the bar25 stream. i've been thoroughly enjoying it so far. i have no idea who is dj'ing but the music is good and that's enough for me as i sit in my office on a sunday afternoon trying/failing to work. i would record the stream, but i can't be bothered and my work computer is crap. so tune in or miss out. click *here* to start the fun.

  3. after posting, i realised it is not actually live blogging, because that should involve some realtime updates, which is most likely not going to happen. but i guess this post is like abelton: semi-live...

anyway, i am thoroughly enjoying the fun down at bar25. even if i am stuck in my office in canberra.

  4. whoever is dj'ing dropped johnny d's 'orbitalife'. every time i hear that record i want to break something. without doubt the most overplayed record this year. it drives me nuts how often it gets played. i don't even know if it is a good record or not, i just don't want to hear it. ever.

  5. still in the office and bar25 is still going strong. but i am only surviving on caffeine... the music is still going strong. one of sherbs' complaints were the never-ending parties in berlin. while they undeniably have their darker side, i do like the sound that comes out in the later hours. things get really twisted, messy and loose.

  10. I really hope Mediaspree is scaled down and Bar 25 survives. I'm glad I've been there anyway.

  11. this was great, made for an unusually groovy monday. also included the best use of HAL from 2001 I've ever heard, from the scene when he's being deprogrammed: "my mind is going... I can feel it..."
genius for an after hours party...

  16. it's 1:30am US eastern time, so 7:30 (?) Berlin time. I'm pretty convinced this is live, because the DJ is barely holding it together. Which is pretty cool...

  17. yep. 7:40am berlin and 3:40pm for me in canberra, australia. it is most definitely live. that is what is great about the stream - loose, no holds barred. this is what i like about the afterhours - it might get a bit mess, but it is often when the sounds are most creative and interesting.
